Imaginary Sound

Did you know ringing in the ears is not actually sound as we know sound? It doesn’t come from some external source of energy waves to be interpreted by the brain. The theory is the brain creates the sound without using some internal movement to do so. This is why tinnitus has been so hard to treat. But ya know what? I actually like it.

Seriously.. I really like having my ears ring.

I wonder how many other people feel the same way about this thing that drives many people nuts. I suppose the total number of those of us who like the sound doesn’t really matter. What does matter is we are out there hiding among the general population pretending we are perfectly normal people just like you. 🤫

Since the secret is out now, I might as well tell you why I like it and maybe, just maybe you will begin to like it too.

I once heard that the ringing was an indication a great truth was about to be revealed. I have never actually experienced that to be true but I liked the idea of it so much I began to relish each time my ears would ring. Eventually the ringing went from the sweet thought I was gaining some wisdom to a gentle reminder that I am One with All That Is. Now, it acts as the small witness to me returning to the breath or in other terms, removing my focus from the physical world and putting it on what is formless. That precious little sound is my friend and it makes me feel good to know that my brain created it just for me.

Maybe you will never find a love of tinnitus, but even if you don’t. I hope you can apply this to some other area of your life. The rest of the world may find something super annoying but it is my hope that the booger of a situation inwardly makes you smile… and is your little insider moment with God.
